I have been a pastor since 1981 in the states of Ohio and Michigan. I have been a special deputy since 1990 and have served with two Michigan counties as a Law Enforcement Chaplain. I was the match director for the West Michigan Practical Shooters for several years. I have been an IPSC class “B” shooter. I am an NRA certified range officer.
In 2002, our sheriff’s department began training to address the problem of active shooters. I provided our department with paintball equipment for the training as I owned 70 paintball guns for an evangelistic ministry that I started called “Action Ministries”. I began as the safety officer for that very first training and I also supplied the role players for the scenarios. I have continued to be involved in force on force scenario training to the present day. I have participated as an officer, a role player and a safety officer.
Upon taking part in active shooter training in February of 2019 with Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office, I came away from that experience and decided that church safety teams would greatly benefit from the same kind of force on force training that law enforcement does. I had been training individuals and groups in firearms for several years and decided that it was time to offer safety teams an elite level of training that could be safely done at the place that would be the most helpful. So we are now taking scenario training on the road and will bring it to your location!
My goal is to help your team be prepared to end a potentially fatal threat as quickly and safely as possible. Protecting the flock is something that as a pastor that I take very seriously. If I can help you, please contact me!
